What Dear Lucy does
Dear Lucy is a sales reporting and analytics platform. The HubSpot integration connects your HubSpot account to Dear Lucy, reads your CRM data on a scheduled basis, and turns it into visual dashboards for sales performance, pipeline development, forecasting, and funnel conversion.
With the integration, you can:
- Track sales performance against targets by team, individual, product, or any other dimension in your CRM data.
- Follow pipeline development over time, including how deals move between stages and where they stall.
- Forecast revenue based on your current pipeline and historical conversion rates.
- Analyse funnel conversion from lead to customer.
- Measure sales activity levels and how they translate into pipeline and revenue.
- Share dashboards with your team and deliver scheduled reports to email.
The integration is read-only and one-way. Dear Lucy reads data from HubSpot. It never creates, edits, or deletes records in your HubSpot account, and it does not create properties, workflows, or lists.
The three HubSpot connectors
Dear Lucy offers three separate HubSpot connectors. You connect your HubSpot account once, then add whichever connectors you need — you can use one, two, or all three, and you can add more at any time.
| Connector | What it provides | Typical dashboards |
|---|---|---|
| HubSpot CRM | Deals, companies, and deal owners | Pipeline, forecast, win rate, sales performance vs. target |
| HubSpot Activities | Sales engagements — calls, meetings, emails, and tasks | Activity levels per rep, activity-to-pipeline conversion, coverage |
| HubSpot Marketing | Contact lifecycle, sessions and source data | Lead generation, funnel conversion, source attribution |
Each connector is added and configured separately in Dear Lucy. They all use the same HubSpot connection, so you only authorise HubSpot once.
What data Dear Lucy reads from HubSpot
HubSpot CRM connector
| HubSpot object | Data read |
|---|---|
| Deals | Pipeline, stage, amount, close date, owner, stage change history, created time |
| Companies | Company name and related reporting attributes |
| Owners and users | The HubSpot user name associated with a record, used to attribute deals to the correct owner and to show per-user performance |
| Leads* | Company name, lead name, lead stage, created time |
| Products* | Product description, name, unit price |
* Object is not included by default
The objects and fields listed above are the ones used in Dear Lucy's standard dashboards. Dear Lucy also reads additional supporting objects and fields, and the field and object selections can be customised for your organisation — for example, to include custom properties you use for reporting. Any customisation stays within the read-only access you granted when connecting HubSpot.
You can see the exact fields being read at any time. Once a connector has been added, go to Integrations > Data Viewer > HubSpot CRM to view the full list of available HubSpot fields and which of them are currently included in your synchronisation.
Activity data connector
| HubSpot object | Data read |
|---|---|
| Calls | Timestamp, owner, outcome, status, duration, direction, disposition |
| Meetings | Timestamp, owner, outcome |
| Emails | Timestamp, owner, status, direction |
| Tasks | Timestamp, owner |
| Notes | Timestamp, owner |

How the data is handled
Retrieved records are converted into Dear Lucy's reporting data model and stored in a database dedicated to your organisation. Storing the data is what allows Dear Lucy to show historical trends and period-over-period comparisons that are not available from HubSpot directly.
Before you start
You will need:
- A Dear Lucy account. You can create a free trial at https://signup.dearlucy.co/.
- A HubSpot user with Super Admin or App Marketplace access permissions. These permissions are required to install any app from the HubSpot Marketplace.
Step 1: Connect your HubSpot account
You only need to do this once, regardless of how many connectors you plan to use.
- Log in to Dear Lucy at https://login.dearlucy.co/ or create a free trial at https://signup.dearlucy.co/.
- Navigate to Integrations > Add new.
- Locate the HubSpot CRM, HubSpot Activities or HubSpot Marketing card.
- Click Connect from the HubSpot card and again Connect from the modal that opens.
- You are redirected to HubSpot. If you are not already signed in, log in to HubSpot.
-
Select the HubSpot account you want to connect, then click Choose Account.
- Review the access Dear Lucy requests. Dear Lucy requests read-only access to your CRM data.
- Check the box and click Connect app.
-
You are returned to Dear Lucy. Your HubSpot account is now connected. Click “Complete” in the modal to finalise adding the connector.

Step 2: Configure your connectors
Each connector is added separately. Add only the ones you need — you can add the others later at any time.
HubSpot CRM connector
Provides deal, company, and owner data for pipeline, forecast, and sales performance reporting.
Configuration:
-
Recurring revenue configuration. You can define fields to be used in recurring revenue reporting by navigating to Integrations > Added Integrations and clicking the cogwheel icon for HubSpot CRM connector.
Defining recurring revenue fields is optional. Most of the dashboards are working out-of-the-box without the need to define recurring revenue fields.
- Map deal stages for pipeline analytics. Navigate to AI & Analytics > Pipeline Analytics Setup. Drag and drop sales stages to applicable status areas. Open stages should be in logical order.
After saving the pipeline analytics setup you will have pipeline analysis reports available. This configuration is optional and only needed if you would like to have pipeline analysis reports.
HubSpot Activity connector
Provides sales engagement data — calls, meetings, emails, and tasks — for activity reporting.
Configuration: No configuration is needed for this connector.
Marketing data connector
Provides sources, sessions and contact lifecycle data for lead generation and funnel reporting.
Configuration: No configuration is needed for this connector.
Note: Minimum required HubSpot marketing edition is Starter.
Step 3: Use the app
Automated
Once your connectors are configured, Dear Lucy keeps your dashboards up to date without any manual action:
- Data is synchronised from HubSpot every hour by default. Contact Dear Lucy’s support if you want to adjust the synchronisation interval.
- Dashboards and metrics recalculate automatically after each synchronisation.
- Progress against goals updates as deals move through your pipeline.
- Scheduled reports can be configured to be delivered via email
Manual
You can also:
-
Build and edit dashboards. Add, remove, and rearrange tiles to create views for different teams or meetings. Dashboards can combine data from multiple connectors — for example, showing activity levels alongside pipeline development.
-
Filter and drill down. Filter dashboards by team, owner, pipeline, or other dimensions, and click through a metric to see the underlying records.
-
Schedule reports. Set up recurring dashboard reports delivered by email.
Removing a single connector
You can remove one connector while keeping the others active.
- In Dear Lucy, navigate to Integrations > Added Integrations
- Locate the connector you want to remove.
-
Click the trash can icon and confirm.
What happens:
- Synchronisation for that connector stops immediately.
- The data that connector stored in Dear Lucy is deleted.
- Dashboards and tiles that rely on that data no longer display data.
- Your other HubSpot connectors continue to work normally, and your HubSpot account remains connected.
- If you remove all HubSpot connectors or you only have one HubSpot connector and you delete that, Dear Lucy app is also removed from your HubSpot account.
Disconnect the app
Disconnecting and removing all data from Dear Lucy is done by deleting all HubSpot connectors from Dear Lucy.
- In Dear Lucy, navigate to Integrations > Added Integrations
- Locate HubSpot connector(s)
- Click the trash can icon for each HubSpot connector and confirm.
What happens when all HubSpot connectors are removed:
- Data synchronisation stops immediately.
- All HubSpot data stored in Dear Lucy — from every connector — is deleted immediately.
- Dashboards and reports based on HubSpot data no longer display data.
- Dear Lucy automatically removes the app from your HubSpot account, so you do not need to uninstall it separately in HubSpot. You can confirm this under Settings > Integrations > Connected Apps in HubSpot.
- Your Dear Lucy account, users, and data from any other connected sources are unaffected.
- Nothing in your HubSpot account changes. No records are edited or deleted.
Uninstall the app from HubSpot
You can also remove Dear Lucy directly from HubSpot. See HubSpot's Knowledge Base article on uninstalling an app, or follow these steps:
- In your HubSpot account, click the settings icon in the top navigation bar.
- Navigate to Integrations > Connected Apps.
- Locate Dear Lucy - Sales Dashboards and select Uninstall from the Actions drop down menu .
- Type uninstall to confirm, then click Uninstall.
What happens when you uninstall from HubSpot:
- Dear Lucy's access to your HubSpot account is revoked immediately. No further data is read by any connector.
- Data synchronisation stops, and HubSpot-based dashboards stop updating.
- To have your stored data removed, disconnect the integration within Dear Lucy or contact support.
- Your Dear Lucy account itself remains active. To close your Dear Lucy account entirely, contact support@dearlucy.co.
Uninstalling from HubSpot removes access for all three connectors. There is no way to remove access for a single connector from the HubSpot side — to do that, remove the individual connector in Dear Lucy instead.
If you want your stored data removed at a specific moment, disconnect from within Dear Lucy — this deletes the data immediately.
How disconnecting and uninstalling affects your HubSpot account and data
The Dear Lucy integration is read-only. It never creates, edits, or deletes records in HubSpot, and it does not add properties, workflows, or lists to your account.
Because of this, removing a connector, disconnecting, or uninstalling Dear Lucy has no effect on your HubSpot data. Every deal, company, contact, and engagement remains exactly as it was. Only Dear Lucy's own copy of the data is affected, as described in the sections above.
Reconnecting
You can re-add connectors at any time from Integrations > Add new in Dear Lucy. Reconnecting starts a fresh synchronisation and rebuilds your dashboards from your current HubSpot data. The Dear Lucy app is also re-added to HubSpot if you have removed the app from HubSpot.
After re-adding connector(s) you need to check the settings again. See Step 2: Configure your connectors.
Data handling and privacy
- Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS 1.2 or higher) and encrypted at rest.
- Each customer's data is stored in an isolated database.
- Data is hosted within the EU.
- Dear Lucy reads contact lifecycle and source attributes only. It does not read contact names, email addresses, email contents, email subject lines or phone numbers.
- For full details, see our Privacy Policy and Sub Processors.
Troubleshooting
My dashboards are empty after connecting. Check that you have added the connector that provides the data in question. See Step 1: Connect your HubSpot. The initial synchronisation can also take a few minutes depending on the amount of deals, customers, etc. in your HubSpot account.
My data looks out of date. Data synchronises every hour by default. Check the last sync time on the connector list page (Integrations > Added Integrations) . If it is older than expected or you wish to adjust the synchronisation interval, contact support.
The connection stopped working. This usually means the integration was uninstalled from HubSpot, or the HubSpot user who authorised the connection no longer has access. Reconnect from Integrations > Add new in Dear Lucy.
